womp womp. deck changes.

Well... it's a little bit of good news and bad news.

Good news: The city's planning department only had 3 things that needed to be changed (we were expecting, like, 100).

Bad news: They considered the additional deck to be additional living space which is a big no-no. So... we were forced to keep the deck square footage that we originally had: just under 500 square feet.

Good news: I got me a pot filler! Yay! We were worried that we wouldn't be able to add additional water features.

Okay, back to the bad news. So, we had to revise the plans a little. Take a look:

So, there you have it. Still quote nice and pretty and I love the planter (saves us from having to do a railing). It still affords us some nice outdoor seating/eating/cooking/entertaining space. And Tom raised a good point: If we're having people outside, would we really want a deck that so easily allows people to walk right up to our master bedroom? So, maybe it's for the best.

So... how 'bout that pot-filler, eh?
